Who am I ?

philippe-bigotto-perigord-autrement-escapadeMy name is Philippe Bigotto,I grew up in the Périgord Noir, where the caves still whisper stories about manking and its origins. As a child,I spent much of my time mushroom picking, scouring the woods in search of some cèpes and looking for signs indicating wild truffles, signs that we call the brulis in French: those bare patches around certain trees, that we call “truffle burn” in English. There was always the promise of a cluseau, carefully concealed beneath the brambles or a borie (a sort of dry stone hut called combe in these parts of France ) lost in the mist of a little valley. It soon became obvious that the next logical step for me would be to start Périgord Escapades : sharing my life-long passions and taking pride in showing a side of Périgord that has never truly been seen before !
